Wolf Spirit Falls is an acrylic paint on canvas work from the imagination of PaintingsByDarren. In this piece a lone wolf is howling at the top of the falls to call out to the wolf spirits within. The textures and hidden wolf "spirits" within the painting appear to him as if by magic. The flowing water rushing over the falls reminds us that "life" is ever-flowing and if you let it you can get swept away in it. The three newly budding trees symbolizes the "new life" that is ever springing forth around us. The wolf spirit images in the rocks represents the spirit that lives within each of us and is just waiting to be called upon. The lone wolf spirit represents myself as I call out to my kindred spirits to guide me along my artistic path. This was a joy to create and play with more textures in the paint than is the "norm" for me.

I have been drawing and painting for almost 50 years now starting with that first box of Crayola 64 crayons I received when I was five years old. Over the years I experimented with pencils, markers, pastels, oils, acrylics, inks, and mixed media. I was and still am a HUGE fan of such Fantasy Artists as Boris Vallejo, Frank Frazetta, Larry Elmore, and Keith Parkinson, just to name a few. I often would sit and draw fantasy creatures and castles along with some surrealistic landscape visions. About 25 years ago I started learning to airbrush and added that to my repertoire.
