Artist's Description
The beauty and power of an ocean wave with a tropical sunset backdrop. I was fortunate enough to be stationed in Hawaii when I was in the service back in the early 80's. The beauty and tranquility of the sandy beaches, warm nights and gorgeous sunsets has remained engrained in my soul ever since. This along with many other works in progress of this style allow me to express the love for nature that has become a big part of who I have become and how my work is influenced. Nothing compares to sitting on a beach taking in a beautiful sunset, the gentle ocean breeze blowing against your face, and the feeling of all the days stress melting away. As I create these it takes me back to that place and time. Let the beauty and calming effect do the same for you.
About Darren Robinson
I have been drawing and painting for almost 50 years now starting with that first box of Crayola 64 crayons I received when I was five years old. Over the years I experimented with pencils, markers, pastels, oils, acrylics, inks, and mixed media. I was and still am a HUGE fan of such Fantasy Artists as Boris Vallejo, Frank Frazetta, Larry Elmore, and Keith Parkinson, just to name a few. I often would sit and draw fantasy creatures and castles along with some surrealistic landscape visions. About 25 years ago I started learning to airbrush and added that to my repertoire.
